Jessica Lewinson grew up in Princeton, New Jersey, where she trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and tap. At her home studio, she choreographed, performed, and competed in dance competitions, company productions, and recitals.

She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Finance, with honors, from American University in Washington, D.C. During her four years there, she performed with the American University Dance Team, competing annually at NDA Nationals, while also choreographing for the AU in Motion Dance Company.

After graduating in 2018, Jessica moved to New York City, where she currently works in Finance at BlackRock. Alongside her professional career, she has continued to create choreography for various companies throughout the city.

Dance has remained a constant through every chapter of Jessica’s life, but choreography is where she found expansion beyond foundation, a space to build, question, and grow. The dialogue between performance and creation has shaped her voice as both an artist and a leader, accompanying her from Princeton to Washington, D.C., and now to New York City, the best city in the world. Each season, she continues to refine her movement, seeking new ways to translate feeling into form.

This will be Jessica’s 13th season dancing and 10th season choreographing with DanceWorks NYC.
