Nora Faverzani (she/her) grew up in southern New Jersey training and competing with Prodance Studio in a variety of styles including jazz, ballet, contemporary, and hip hop. Nora attended Yale University, where she danced with Yaledancers (“YD”, Yale’s premier dance company) and Rhythmic Blue (Yale’s audition-based hip hop and open style company). She choreographed 15 pieces for YD, ranging in style from contemporary to jazz to heels. Nora served on YD's executive board for three years, one of them as co-president, and on the Alliance of Dance at Yale (ADAY) board, which oversees and works with all dance groups on campus. Nora spent several post grad years in Washington DC performing and creating collaboratively with other members of the DC dance community on works for Effervescence Collective and at Dance Place DC. She also performed with Capitol Movement’s contemporary and hip hop companies. 

Now, Nora lives in Brooklyn and this is her third season dancing with DanceWorks New York City. In addition to DWNYC, Nora dances with Unbound Dance Collective and works as a senior data scientist at Altana. She is so excited to be making her DWNYC choreographer debut with her trusted collaborator, previous co-president, and close friend Faith!
