Symone is very excited to be back with DanceWorks New York City, this time as the Managing Director. Prior to stepping into this leadership role, Symone spent 10 incredible seasons as a company dancer and choreographer with DWNYC. True to the core values and mission of the organization, she deeply values how DanceWorks allowed her to hone her creative craft and maintain her passion for movement while simultaneously scaling a successful corporate career. Symone spent years climbing the ranks within the largest independent media agency in the United States, ultimately serving as Vice President of Marketing Strategy, before recently transitioning to the client side within the travel industry.

Symone graduated cum laude from Loyola University Maryland with a dual focus in Digital Media and Communications and a minor in Marketing. While at Loyola, she performed with the college dance company all four years and led as President for three of them. She was also a starting player and two year captain of the Club Volleyball team. She grew up in Los Angeles starting out as a competitive gymnast and then transitioned into dance at the age of 10. She joined MNR Dance company and competed across multiple styles with a dedicated focus on contemporary, lyrical, and jazz where she won multiple titles and overalls for her solos, duos and trios along with group numbers.

In addition to her love for the stage, Symone is a self-taught baker and the founder of her own baking venture, specializing in everything from custom cakes to artisanal ice cream. She frequently leverages her culinary talents for philanthropy, hosting baked-goods raffles that donate 100% of their proceeds to impactful organizations such as the American Cancer Society, the Black Artists & Designers Guild, and the Marsha P. Johnson Institute. An avid global traveler, Symone loves exploring new cultures and has traveled to Colombia, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, and throughout Europe. True to her creative spirit, she merges her passions by taking baking classes centered around the desserts of that culture during her travels abroad, including a six-month study abroad immersive in Ireland.

Symone is thrilled to combine her vast marketing expertise, strategic brand vision, and deep 10-season history with DWNYC to drive the organization's growth trajectory, elevate its brand presence, and lead the New York City dance community to exciting new heights.
